The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is still months away from its launch but we already have some details about the smartphones that it’ll power. Tipster Yogesh Brar on X shares some interesting insights into which smartphone OEMs will be the first to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 on their flagship devices.
Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship devices, Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro, are rumored to be the first smartphones to feature the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. Although we expect the launch to be China-only. This move follows Xiaomi’s previous strategy with the Xiaomi 14 series, which debuted in China with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip before a global release.
Following Xiaomi’s footsteps, OnePlus and iQOO are also expected to release their own Snapdragon 8 Gen 4-powered devices, likely to be named the OnePlus 13 and iQOO 13, respectively.

Qualcomm should follow an October launch for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. The new chipset will feature a custom Oryon CPU and FastConnect 7900 connectivity, along with integrated UWB capabilities and powerful AI, promising enhanced performance and features for consumers.
Last year, iQOO made headlines by being the first to launch a phone with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, debuting the iQOO 12 in December in India and November in China. Currently, Xiaomi holds the exclusive rights, but it is expected that the iQOO 13 and OnePlus 13 will follow suit soon.
The iQOO 13 and OnePlus 13 might be the first to debut with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in India, as the Xiaomi 15 series may not arrive until February or March 2025. With this in mind, even Samsung could be one of the first OEMs to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 on its devices.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 series should launch in January or February 2025, both in India and the US. This should make Samsung the first brand in the US to launch a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 phone.
