This review is for the hardware version J1. Pros: 1. Ports - 4 Gigabit ports which is good for more than 100Mbps connections. 2. WiFi - Both the wifi bands are working fine. Range - 5Ghz band have solid connection in the same room (20feet) where the router is placed. If you go to next room, it will be patchy connection. 2.4Ghz band is reaching next room (40 feet) with solid connection but reduced speed. In my case, it was half the speed of connection. 3. MIMO - Hardware version J1 have MIMO option. Older versions have no MIMO. 4. Setup - Setup wizard is flawless. 5. Modes - Router, Access Point, Repeater, WISP client. Cons: No USB port. No other issues found so far at the product. Issues in product listings: Product description is mentioning USB port which is not available in hardware version J1. It was there in previous models. So if you plan it for NAS or network printer, you may not get the USB depends on the model you receive. I don't know why D-Link is using the same model # for different specs. You may expect a feature as it was there in a version you saw. But it may not be there in the version you receive. It is highly confusing. Picture is not from latest version. Issues at Flipkart end: Flipkart should add an option to differentiate different versions of the same model #. Reviews should be filterable for specific version. Reviews should be searchable with keywords. If someone mention an issue in a product, we can check, how many users get the same issue.

I thought it's got the latest firmware version. But this router is really old version and I'm really disappointed. Though I couldn't even upgrade it to the Russian firmware version. I tried a lot but nothing happening. If anyone looking for the newest blue GUI for this router, I don't think you are gonna get it. And always beware of that. If you don't care about the new GUI, then go for it. WiFi range is decent not that good as I expected.

Overall is fine. The user interface could be little bit typical for new router users. Moreover Dlink should provide some kind of app to control the router in an easier manner. Performance of the router is great. It works for 24 hrs daily in my home.
