The exchange process is an utter mess. The guy that had to collect it took a glance at my laptop(Did not even bother to switch it on) and told me that my laptop would not be accepted for an exchange due to the physical conditions. He flat out rejected it and left within a minute of picking my laptop in his hand. He did not bother to explain where he found the damages either. There were no dented corners/physical damage of sorts. All the conditions mentioned in the exchange policy were complied with. I contacted the vendor responsible for the collection and visited him later that day in his office with my laptop to get the exchange approved. He checked it and told me there were no problems with my laptop and that it was totally eligible for the exchange offer. So basically my delivery got canceled then I had to find who the delivery vendor was, look for the manager's number, contact him and then go meet him in his office (This was a 20km+ distance, cost me a lot of time and effort). All this effort to get something delivered* at my house. So I won't be giving a lot of props to the delivery+exchange process here. Apologies for the rant but that was the experience. Also, the delivery wasn't quick either (Like a next day thing). -- Now about the actual product -- This is listed for almost 70k and by no means can I call it a budget/cheap range. The sad part is there aren't many good laptop options in this range in India and actually even if you stretch a bit more(~ 85k - 90k) you'll still have to compromise to achieve the Holy trinity (Performance + portability + Battery backup). The good ones only start from 1 Lakh+ and I looked at ultrabooks, gaming laptops, regular laptops... a lot of research went into this. I was using a Macbook Pro 13" before this at work and my primary usage was for coding/development/IDE's taking loads of memory. Gaming wasn't a priority(Obviously, I was using a Mac). I decided I could compromise on the portability part since I'd be using it mostly at home and the ultrabooks available in the 70k - 90k were straight trash (Can't trust U series processors with heavy applications). I almost bought a Lenovo Y530(Lenovo Y540 wasn't released yet) but then I found this. Performance: i5 9300H + Gtx 1650 is no monster but this lies in the upper spectrum of performance for laptops in the 70k range. Assasin's Creed Odessy averaged ~ 40 - 45 FPS in the custom Medium~High settings. (Super playable) Fifa 19 is giving me 110~122 FPS but that's the Nvidia defined Optimal settings and honestly, graphics don't matter in Fifa as much as the gameplay speed. I tried running it in ultra but was getting a measly ~ 30-35 FPS. Portability and Size: Given that it's a gaming laptop it is not HUGE. The size is in control. The vents are placed well and it isn't too heavy either(for a gaming laptop). Obviously, you can't keep it on your lap and work, neither is that recommended. I use it mostly on my table like it was intended (for heat dissipation) and I think it works best that way. I won't advise you to travel with this in your hand. Big props for the size but not soo much for portability. Build Quality: It is a TANK. The laptop feels solid even though it's entirely plastic. There is no flex in the keyboard, no backlight bleeding on the screen, the brushed accents are nice. I have no issues with the build quality, it does not feel cheap either. Battery Life: It's really poor. The charger is permanently plugged in my laptop whenever I'm using it. Forget gaming without it and even for regular multimedia usage like youtube bingeing, I can't keep it running for more than 3 hours. The battery is too small even for a gaming device. Not recommended for folks who have to travel a lot without charging options. Quick Mentions: -- It's an RGB lighthouse. Looks insane with RGB on.Armoury Crate gives you a lot of control too.Only wish I could toggle the keyboard backlights and the bottom lightbar separately. -- Screen is good for indoor use. I haven't used it outdoors but can imagine instances where it might not be bright enough. -- Upgradability is good. I plan to upgrade the ram and swap the NVME SSD with a higher capacity one. Access to them is fairly simple. -- There is an overclocking profile in the Armoury Crate( Asus software for various controls) which lets you increase the base clock and memory clock offset of the GPU manually. I tried it and it had real effects increasing the FPS in AC Odessy but I didn't run it too long as I am a paranoid person and Asus does not cover problems occurred by overclocking in its warranty program. -- Worst Things about it-- -- The speakers are TRASH.You won't be able to hear it if there's a slightly loud fan in your room.I can't stress how bad the speakers are on this unit. Please keep a pair of headphones with it at all times. -- There is distinct discolorization in the top of the laptop and it's hinge(The part with the vents).Felt like it wore out already on unboxing
