Perfect product!

Excellent as usual. But I experienced lag in screen mirroring after few days of use. Had to factory reset the Chrome cast device. Now it's working fine.

Excellence from Google

Product is excellent in performance as expected from Google. It turned my Non-smart LCD Samsung TV into Smart TV. Best thing with this device is that we can use this with Phone's Hotspot as well. I am using it with Jio Phone's hotspot and playing content from the same phone. So no second pohone required for hotspot. Only first time ( if you want to use your phone as hotspot) two phones are required for initial setup. Just follow below steps to use chromecast 2 with Phone's hotspot: 1. Say you want to use phone 'A' as a hotspot to get chrome cast connected. 2. Take one more phone 'B'. 3. Create hotspot with Phone 'B' and setup the chrome cast. Chrome cast will get setup and install some required software. 4. After successful setup, turn off the hotspot in phone 'B'. 5. Take Phone 'A' and create hotspot with the same hotspot name and password as in phone 'B'. 6. Now chrome cast will recognize phone 'A's hotspot and get connected. 7. You can use phone 'A' as a hotspot as well as playing online content/mirroring at the same time.

Highly recommended

I am writing this review after 2 and half years of use. Now the device is not working and it's gone! But it didn't seem like it's gone ! Not sure why it stopped working suddenly! But after resetting the WiFi router, yes you heard correct, by resetting, not restarting, it started working again. Product is awesome ! But before buying please keep these things in mind : 1. Do you have Wi-Fi router ? Then it would be easy for you to set up Chromecast and use. 2. Don't you have Wi-Fi router ? Then you should have another phone having android OS to set your Chromecast. All you have to do is make the other phone share it's Wi-Fi with the help of Hotspot. Follow the instructions in manual given along with the Chromecast and you would be able to set up the device. 3. Do you have plenty of internet data ? 20GB/30GB/50GB/220GB ? In both the cases (1 and 2) your internet data would be consumed while you are casting your phone screen to TV. This happens when you use the "Cast" icon on the apps which you want to cast. e.g : YouTube app shows up cast icon when you connect your Chromecast to Wi-Fi device/mobile phone hotspot. If you use this "Cast" icon to cast your phone screen then your internet data would be consumed. If your internet is very faster than 2-3 Mbps then you would get better clarity on your TV else the clarity would be reduced. But the advantage here is you can make the phone's display off or work on other stuffs on your phone while the screen casting is going on! 4. Don't you have plenty of internet data ? 1GB/Day ? In this case all you have to do is cast your screen using Casting feature in Andriod phone! This will never consume internet data and there is no compromise in clarity at all ! This casting feature in there under Settings->Display->Cast screen. But the disadvantage here is you have to keep your phone always ON. You can't work on other stuffs. This casting projects your phone screen on TV. That's it! Second disadvantage/the draw back here is (I don't know if it is the draw back of Chromecast or the Android phone) : Suppose if you exhausted 1GB/Day internet data ! You would never be able to connect to Chromecast though this Casting does not consume any internet data ! So, come out of the myth that tells Chromecast always needs a Wi-Fi device ! But ultimately you need atleast two devices along with Chromecast to cast your phone screen on TV - > One is your phone and other is Wi-Fi device/Phone with hotspot.
