I wanted a prime that I could use all the time on my Sony Alpha 6000 and the Sigma 19mm f2.8 fit the bill. Its not expensive and has the same sharpness and level of quality as you would expect from any prime. Its effective focal length after the APSC crop factor is very usable in most situations. I do not want to compare this with a Zeiss prime. Dxo mark says it has an effective sharpness of 10 P-Mpix. Trust me - its pretty good. You will not complain. The lens is ok wide open and very sharp when stopped down. Excellent f4 onwards. It even has decent bokeh. If you want to use this for portraits remember to keep your subjects in the middle as thats where its most sharp at f2.8. Also note that it could distort the image cause of the wide focal length so stand as close to the subject as possible and things will be fine. Do note that you would have to use Lightroom to remove any Chromatic abberation. It will have this lens profile. I did not miss the fact that this lacked image stabilization. I have not taken this lens off for a month now. It will stay on till I get another prime or if I am forced to use my other lenses for some reason.
