Yu’s latest smartphone, Yureka Note, which was earlier spotted in offline retail stores, has now been officially introduced at 13,499 INR. Yu Yureka Note follows the same symmetrical design language as Yuphoria or Yutopia, except that it’s distinctly larger with a mammoth 6-inch (Full HD) display size.

On the inside, Yureka Note employs MT6753T octa-core chipset, with 3GB LPDDR3 RAM and 16GB expandable storage and is running Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box (Nope, no Cyanogen OS).

Other notable features include 13MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, dual speakers, 4G LTE, and 4000 mAh battery. Yu has also provided with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor on the Yureka Note.

Yu’s last smartphone, Yutopia, was an ambitious effort but failed to get a favorable nod from critics. Interestingly, Yu which is widely acknowledged as online exclusive sub-brand of Micromax is targeting offline markets with the new Yureka Note. Since most of the fingerprint-scanner-laden-affordable smartphones these days are online exclusives, this strategy might work.

So, if you harbor a liking for large display phones, Yureka Note sounds like an interesting proposition for basic and moderate usage. We will know more after our full review.
