The Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Xiaomi, has continuously worked to cover a wide spectrum of products in its portfolio. A recent leak that surfaced on Weibo reveals an interesting tablet, Redmi Pad 5G.

The leaked poster suggests April 27 as the launch date. There’s been no official notification confirmation regarding the same as of now.

The tech giant had earlier launched Mi Pad 4 back in 2018 and after two years of gap, time is ripe for a successor – even considering that the craze for tablets has diminished exponentially. Apple’s iPad and Samsung’s Galaxy Tab, being the major players, are still serving the market. The Redmi Pad 5G could be launched alongside Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite Youth Edition and MIUI 12, which are set to launch in China in the next few weeks.

Redmi Pad 5G Features and Price

The poster reveals many key specs of the upcoming Redmi Pad. The tablet is supposed to feature an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor and support dual-mode 5G connectivity. The device endorses 30W fast charging, with no mention of battery capacity on the poster.

The screen size of Redmi Pad is not mentioned but the panel is believed to offer a 90Hz refresh rate. The display’s side bezels look minimal in the poster and there is a selfie shooter at the top. However, the rear side is not exhibited. It is stated that the coming Redmi Pad will tout a 48MP AI camera and ultra-linear quad-speakers. Xiaomi’s own MIUI OS, customized for tablets, will run the device.

The Redmi Pad 5G is expected to launch at a price of 1999 Yuan (Rs. 21,500 approximately) and will be available in black and white color variants.

Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite Youth Edition was scheduled to unveil in India on March 31 but due to COVID-19 breakdown, it is delayed for later. Additionally, the Indian government has restricted e-commerce sites to operate amid national lockdown exempting food and essential goods.
