Even before the Redmi Note 4 could hit the Indian market, the Redmi Note 5 has already been spotted at US FCC certification.
The obtaining of the FCC certification indirectly points towards its imminent release and the smartphone’s expected price, specifications, as well as release timeline are being speculated online ever since.
Reportedly coming in two storage variants (32GB and 64GB), the Redmi Note 5 will possibly have a 5.5-inch full-HD display secured by a Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
The phone is expected to be powered by a 2.0GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 octa-core chipset or a 2.1GHz MediaTek Helio x25 deca-core chipset along with a rumored 4GB RAM.

The Redmi Note 5 will reportedly run on the latest Android 7.1 Nougat-based MIUI 8 and packs a powerful 4,000 mAh battery along with provisions for Quick Charge 3.0.
As far as the optics are concerned, the Note 5 is expected to be a notch above it predecessor and would feature a 16MP primary along with an 8MP secondary one as compared to the Note 4’s 13MP primary and 5MP secondary setup.
The Redmi Note 5 is likely to be unveiled in summer this year and as has become the norm with Xiaomi, the phone would first be available exclusively in the Chinese market before being brought out globally after about a month or two.
Looks like we will have to wait for a long time to get our hands on the Note 5 as the Indian market is still awaiting the Note 4, which is due to be launched on January 19.
