Xiaomi Redmi 1S Gets MIUI 6 Update

Xiaomi has been travelling along a road of honor and success right from the very beginning of its time in the smartphone market. Xiaomi’s very own MIUI interface is really a sight to the sore eyes with ample of customization possible because of its presence. Last year Xiaomi had updated its MIUI ROM to the newest Beta 6 version. The MIUI is now MIUI 6. Earlier than now, this update was not very stable on all Mi devices. A few devices which supported this updated build include Xiaomi Mi 4, Xiaomi Mi 3, Redmi 2, Redmi Note, Mi Pad. And this time this upgraded Beta version of MIUI 6 has been released for Xiaomi Redmi 1S.

MIUI 6 totally transforms the interface experience on the Redmi 1S. It brings a whole new notification center with toggle modes for music player, notifications for missed calls, new text/other messages, reminders and app update notifications. The ROM is updated every 1-2 weeks and there are minor changes incurred in the ROM every time including bug fixes. This is the first time ever that Xiaomi has rolled out any developer ROM in the global market.

The MIUI 6 Beta version update for Xiaomi Redmi 1S is 587 MB in size. Currently this build is not available as OTA (on the air) and needs to be downloaded manually from Mi forum. For detailed instruction on how to manually flash your Redmi 1S with this new update, click here.
