Xiaomi Mi S – A Compact Flagship Phone Pops-up In Online leaks

It seems that compact smartphones are coming back in fashion. After Google’s compact Pixel premium phone, Xiaomi is reportedly working on a compact phone of its own which will have screen size below 5-inch and will offer updated innards.

Ahead of any official announcements, some of the promotional material including rendered images and specifications related to the Xiaomi Mi S were spotted on a popular Chinese site Weibo. The authenticity of this leak is still questionable but if they turned out to true,it will certainly makes an interesting choice.

As per the leaks, the Xiaomi Mi S will come with a 4.6-inch full HD display and 2.5D curved glass layered on top. The display will be able to achieve 600-nit brightness.  It is expected to have a compact fit  (128.3 x 64.2 x 8.2 mm) and it will weigh about 138g. Under the hood, it houses all powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset, matted with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage.

For shutterbugs, it will bear a 12-megapixel primary shooter with a Sony IMX378 sensor, PDAF, and f/2.0 aperture, a dual-LED flash, and 4K video recording option. Selfie lovers will be able to capture self-portraits using 4-megapixel front camera.xiaomi-mi-s

It will be aided by a 2600mh battery with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 technology for a quick refill. The phone will also get a USB Type-C port, 4G LTE, a single-SIM slot, NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi, and WiDi.


In this so claimed promotional material, there is no mention of details related to its price and launch date so the seem suspicious so we would suggest you to take it with a pinch of salt.
