18:9 displays have allowed manufacturers to cram bigger screens into smaller-than-expected bodies. Thanks to the widespread acceptance of the new trend, 5.7-inch or 6-inch displays fitted in a 5.5-inch phone footprint are fairly common sightings these days.

The big phones aren’t going anywhere, though. Xiaomi’s next generation Mi Max 3 will reportedly house an even bigger 7-inch screen in nearly the same Mi Max 2 size casing. If leaked renders are to be believed, the handset will also include two rear cameras.

Xiaomi Mi Max 3 features and highlights

The upcoming Xiaomi Mi Max 3 will have a 7-inch full-view screen with Full HD+ (2160 X 1080) resolution. There are minimal bezels on all four sides and the navigation buttons are now present on-screen. Don’t worry, the selfie camera is still at the top.

The new Xiaomi big phone is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 660 octa-core chipset – the first mid-range Qualcomm SoC to include custom Kyro cores (Kyro 260).

Dual cameras are visible in the leaked renders but there is no word on the type of camera implementation or resolution of sensors employed. The Mi Max 3 will reportedly make room for a massive 5,500mAh battery that shall also support fast charging.
