Today, Xiaomi unveiled the Mi CC9 Pro as a successor to the CC9 series launched earlier this year. As already announced, the new Xiaomi phone comes wielding the world’s first 108MP camera. This ought to be the next big leap in the world of smartphone optics.

While we were expecting Mi CC9 Pro, Xiaomi surprised us with a Mi CC9 Pro Premium Edition.

Tomorrow, i.e., November 6, the global version of the Mi CC9 Pro aka the Mi Note 10 is expected to launch in Madrid, Spain. Anyway, let’s move to the main attractions of the phone.

108MP Bright HMX sensor: What’s special?

Samsung 108MP ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor

Mi CC9 is capable of tapping 100 million effective pixels to out 12032 x 9024 resolution photos, wherein each pixel sizes to 0.8-microns. Its primary camera features a 1/1.13-inch ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor from the house of Samsung Electronics. The phone employs the Pixel-binning Tetracell technology to combine four pixels into one larger pixel, and thus producing 27MP images. Xiaomi vaunts a detailed and brighter picture quality.

The brightness is in part thanks to the small sensor size and also the Smart ISO feature. Like the name, this lowers ISO in bright areas for vivid photos and propels ISO for lesser noise in underexposed areas of a scene.

Outside the panel lies the phone’s 20MP 117-degree ultrawide lens and lastly a 2MP (2-10 cm) macro lens. The front game is handled by a 32MP shooter.

Notably, Xiaomi underlines an F/1.7 8P lens on the Premium Edition, which is new for any phone out there.
