Xiaomi Mi Air Purifier 3 with 360° Triple-layer filter launched in India for Rs. 9999

Post-Diwali, Delhi and several other places across the country have become smoke chambers. Timely enough, Xiaomi has brought its Mi Air Purifier 3 to India. It comes with a high-precision laser sensor, a 360-degree triple-layer filtration mechanism, an OLED display with ambient air quality indicators. Further, it brings Alexa and Google Assistant on board.

Look-wise, it resembles a lot like Xiaomi’s earlier offerings. It is a small white cuboid with an OLED touch display. This panel shows PM2.5 levels, humidity, WiFi connection and you also get to select various available modes. They are sleep, auto, favorite, low, medium, and high-level modes. The screen’s brightness gets auto-adjusted based on the ambient light.

As for the air indicators, you get green, orange and red rings. They denote various levels of Particulate Matter (PM) in the air.

  • Green – PM2.5<75mg/μ3
  • Orange – 75<150mg/μ3
  • Red – >150mg/μ3

It sports a high precision laser sensor that detects particles as small as 0.3μm and based on which, you get the aforementioned PM level notification.

Mi Air Purifier 3 is equipped with a 360-degree cylindrical triple-layer filter that comprises a pre-filter, a HEPA filter and lastly a carbon filter. It claims to stop 99.7% of PM 2.5 pollutants, formaldehyde, toxic substances, and foul smells.

It flushes 6333 liters of fresh air stretching over a radius of 279-484 sq. ft. The reported Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) is 380 cubic meters per hour.

You can control the device via the Mi Home app or with Alexa and Google Assistant.

Mi Air Purifier 3 launched in India

Xiaomi Air Purifier 3 is currently available via Mi.com and soon it will be available via Amazon and Flipkart from November 7, 2019. It retails at Rs. 9,999 and as for its filter, you could grab it for Rs. 2,199.

Incidentally, Mi Air Purifier 2S is expected to be phased out soon and that leaves us with Mi Air Purifier 3 and the recently launched Mi Air Purifier 2C in the Indian market.
