According to reports, there were five different models- 2105212, 2016089, 2016101, MAE136 and MBE6A5- listed on the site, out of which the MAE136 is being said to be the Mi 5c and has been codenamed as Meri.

Furthermore, the listing of the phone seemingly points towards a 5.5-inch display protected by a 2.5D glass on top. Along with that, it is being speculated that the phone will feature the company’s very own Pinecone processor supported by a 3GB RAM.

Keeping in mind Xiaomi’s way of working, the phone is likely to boot Android Marshmallow-based MIUI 8 out of the box and would reportedly come without fast charging facility.

On the camera front, the Mi 5c is expected to feature a 12MP rear camera along with an 8MP selfie snapper.

As far as the live images of the phone are concerned, they show a sleek design with ultra-narrow bezels around the display and a home button on the chin.

The Mi 5c is being tipped to hit the market in February this year but if the recent history is to be taken into account, the release date is as tentative as it gets. It looks like we’ll have to wait and hope for Xiaomi to let a word out if the phone is ever going to see the light of the day.
