Xiaomi Mi 5C (Meri) Once Again Pops Up at Geekbench Running On Android Nougat

Xiaomi Mi 5C Aka Meri is back in news. After no physical button renders it has once again appeared on the benchmarking site Geekbench. This is not the first time that the Xiaomi Meri or Mi 5C has been spotted on Geekbench but there are a few things that have changed in the phone in the phone listing. As per the new listing, the Xiaomi 5C comes out of the box running with 3GB RAM and running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

As per the Geekbench new listing that we spotted, the Mi 5C gets a 1.4GHz octa-core chipset, but exact processor model number or brand is not mentioned in the listing. According to the new benchmark scores, the new single cores manages to clock up to 762 points while in the multi-core test is recorded 3399 points.The Mi 5C is reported to feature Xiaomi’s proprietary Pinecone V670 processor which has 8xA53 cores and Mali T860 MP4 GPU.

The Xiaomi Mi 5C is likely to come with a 5.5-inch display, 3GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. It may feature a 12MP Omnivision 12870 rear camera, whereas up front it’s likely to have an 8MP selfie shooter. The phone will draw juice from 4500mAh battery and will run on MIUI 8.2 out of the box.

Xiaomi is hosting an event on February 28 at MWC to introduce its PineCone chipset, therefore we expect Mi 5C to be launched at the same event. The phone will be priced at around 1499 Yuan, which is roughly. Rs. 14,636 in India.
