Breaking its tradition of conducting independent launches, Xiaomi announced its newest television set, the Mi TV 4, along with the Mi Router HD at its CES debut. Both of the products will be brought out in the Chinese market later this year.

The Mi TV 4 is encased in a 4.9mm metal frame and is admittedly the company’s slimmest Television set yet. It has a transparent stand lending it a unique touch and offers the viewers a 4K, cinema-like experience with Dolby Surround sound system.

The Mi TV 4 comes in three sizes (49-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch) and features Xiaomi’s Patch Wall software, a rumored AI that can predict content based on your preferences. Powered by a quad-core, 64-bit processor, the Mi TV 4 comes with a separate soundbar, the Mi TV Bar, containing 10 speakers, two wireless speakers, and a subwoofer.

In fact, Xiaomi has also placed the Motherboard and other internals in the Mi Bar attached to the TV to facilitate easy replacement and upgrade, should the need arise.

Along with the Television set, the company also announced its Mi Router HD which is expected to be out in the first quarter of the year in China. The Router will come out in two variants depending on the storage capacity. It is said to contain 4 PCB array antennas and will offer transfer speed up to 2600Mbps. Along with that, it would automatically back up all the devices and sync the data on Dropbox.

While the company has announced these products for the Chinese market yet, it remains to be seen when they come out in the global market. Apart from the new router and TV set, Xiaomi also launched a white variant of its popular bezel-less concept phone Mi Mix, which will still be restricted to China.
