Xiaomi has been working on the successor to its flagship Xiaomi 14 Series for a while now. The Xiaomi 15 Series is in the works and speculations around the devices have been doing rounds for the last few months. While the Xiaomi 14 Series launched with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset in February 2024, the Xiaomi 15 series is expected to go official around the same time in February 2025. Details regarding its main camera sensor have surfaced online courtesy of tipster Digital Chat Station. The tipster claims that an early engineering prototype of the top-end Xiaomi 15 Ultra model powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset has been accessed by him.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra: Camera details

Tipster Digital Chat Station has made a post on Weibo that claims the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will have a large circular camera module, similar to the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, but the camera arrangement has received changes. The quad-camera setup includes dual telephoto lenses and a large periscope lens.
There will be a 50MP main sensor which will be larger than the predecessor, suggesting an increased sensor size or a larger aperture. Xiaomi 14 Ultra featured a 50MP Sony LYT 900 sensor with a 1-inch camera, but this time Xiaomi 15 Ultra might have a sensor larger than 1-inch indicating improvements in camera performance.

Other reports reveal that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra might have a micro-curvature design on all four sides and support a 2K resolution. It might also feature an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor and run HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15. One of the rear cameras might be a 200MP Samsung HP9 periscope telephoto camera with 4x optical zoom.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra will most likely be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset with 24GB RAM. Under the hood, it might pack a 6200mAh battery. Reports also claim that the device’s engineering prototype boasts of three builds- fiberglass, plain leather, and ceramic.
