Although the feature already exists on other platforms, introducing them on WhatsApp, which happens to be one of the most popular products from the company, could help attract more users by making their video calls more engaging and fun.

The new backgrounds for video calls will help users hide distractions behind them or keep their surroundings private. On the other hand, filters will help users “create a more playful atmosphere” during day-to-day conversations.
In total, there are 10 backgrounds and 10 filters to choose from. Further, users can also choose from a mix of options to create a unique look.
