Western Digital My Passport HDD with up to 5TB storage capacity launched in India

Putting light on the growing content backup needs, Western Digital unveiled its My Passport portable hard disk in India. The new HDD sports a slim design and supports up to 5TB data storage. They are up to 30-percent smaller than the precursor. It comes in three new colors i.e., Red, Black, and Blue.

The main highlight for me while holding the drive was its lite and sleek form factor. It is just 0.75 (19.15mm) thick. It is compatible with both Windows 10 and Mac. The former has a USB 3.0 socket which has reverse integration to USB 2.0 too. As for the Mac one, you get a USB-C connector.

As soon as you connect them to the PC, the inbuilt WD Discovery software will provoke back up. You’ll have the option to set the same to carry out automatically in preset durations.

This HDD is also 256-bit AES hardware encrypted. Besides, you also get WD Security password protection.
