AIIMS ransomware attack

AIIMS Hospital, Delhi is still reeling from a major ransomware attack that hit its server last week.

The cyber attack on AIIMS has shut down its main and backup servers. AIIM's e-hospital platform is struggling to come out of the ransomware attack.

The leaked database mostly includes Personally Identifiable Information (PII) of patients, healthcare workers and administration.

The attackers have access to data including login credentials, blood donor records, ambulance records, vaccination records, caregiver records, payment methods, etc.

AIIMS officials announced that all impacted online patient services are being operated in a manual manner. Meanwhile, the cyberattack is being looked into by the Delhi Police.

Organizations should routinely upgrade and patch networks, systems, and software to prevent such cyberattacks.
