BBK Electronics subsidiary Vivo India has launched a new mid-range phone, Vivo Y95 in the country. In terms of specifications, the new Vivo Y95 is remarkably similar to Oppo A7 that also launched today. The major difference between the Vivo Y95 and Oppo A7 are their respective chipsets. So, where does Snapdragon 439 stand compared to Snapdragon 450?
Vivo Y95 Features: Snapdragon 439 vs Snapdragon 450
The Vivo Y95 features a 6.22-inch Halo FullView HD+ Display with a resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels boasting a screen-to-body ratio of 88.6%. The screen is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass. It is powered by Snapdragon 439 Octa-core chipset clocked at 1.9GHz that is bolstered with Adreno 505 GPU. The handset includes 4GB RAM and an internal storage of 64GB. The storage can be expanded up to 256GB with the help of the dedicated microSD card slot.
But, how does the Snapdragon 439 compare against Snapdragon 450? Well, the Snapdragon 439 is a new SoC based on a more power efficient process (12nm vs 14nm) and has slightly higher clocked Cortex -A53 cores (1.9GHz vs 1.8GHz). This should lend Snapdragon 439 a raw performance advantage over Snapdragon 450. At the same time, the Snapdragon 450 fairs better in other areas including Modem, GPU, ISP, etc. Overall, the practical experience should be very close.
The Vivo Y95 features a 13MP PDAF primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 2MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. On the front, we have a 20MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture with features like Face Beauty, AR Stickers and Portrait mode. We have an LED Flash on the back and a Front Screen Flash for supporting the camera modules. The fingerprint sensor is placed in the back.

The phone is powered by a 4030 mAh battery and runs on Android Oreo 8.1 based FunTouch OS 4.5. The phone also features Vivo’s personal assistant Jovi Smart Scene which can relay your activity stats, advise you regarding the local weather conditions, update you with the information about your favorite sports teams and reminds you to take rest while working late into the night.
