Vivo Y15 2019 with AI Triple Rear Camera and 5000 mAh battery debuts in India with exciting offers

Vivo India launched Vivo Y15 in the budget segment with AI equipped triple rear cameras, 5000mAh battery, and a few other similarities with the recently launched Vivo Y17 (review). The new phone is a slightly shaved down phone in specs and price.

Vivo Y15 2019: How’s this one different from the Vivo Y17

First, let’s skim through the similarities among the two phones.

Vivo Y15 shares the same 6.35-inch IPS LCD display with 720 x 1544 pixels and a dewdrop cutout atop. It measures the same dimensions and heft. Here also, you get a 3.5mm headphone jack, bottom firing speaker grill, micro USB 2.0 port, rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, 256GB microSD card support, and a Dual SIM slot.

Vivo Y15 sports an Aqua Blue and Burgundy Red color, an area of aesthetics it differs from the Vivo Y17. It runs on Android Pie based FunTouch OS, which is vivo’s defacto software. It is fueled by a 5000mAh battery, which is the same that the Y17 is drawing from.

The rear camera setup includes a 13 MP (f/2.2) primary shooter, paired with a 16mm ultrawide 8 MP (f/2.2) shooter and finally, a  2 MP (f/2.4) depth sensor. You also get the standard features like LED flash, HDR, and panorama. As for video shooting, you could capture at 1080p@30fps.

Now’s dive into the differences. Starting with the selfie snapper, this one has a 16MP snapper with f/2.0 aperture. The device is engined by a MediaTek Helio P22 octa-core processor clocked at 2GHz speed. The out-of-the-box storage size dips to 64GB coupled with 4GB RAM. And this one ditches fast charging support too.

The slash is specs are reflected in the price tag too. Vivo Y15 is priced at INR 13,990. The phone would be available via Vivo offline outlets and online stores such as Flipkart, Amazon India, Paytm, Vivo E-Store and Tata Cliq.
