Vivo Xplay 5 Elite with 6GB RAM and Snapdragon 820 SoC announced for $654

Chinese Smartphone manufacturer Vivo has announced its latest flagship smartphone Xplay 5 which will come in two variants. The base variant will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset coupled with 4Gigs of RAM while Elite variant will feature a Snapdragon 820 SoC along with 6 GB RAM. Vivo Xplay and Xplay 5 Elite are priced at $564 and $654 respectively.

Vivo Xplay 5 sports a 5.43-inch QHD display with 2560×1440 pixels resolution which comes with a layer of Gorilla Glass protection jacket. Like Elite variant, this base variant also flaunts metal unibody construction along with edge displays on both sides. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 652 octa-core chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and Adreno 510 GPU. The phone comes with 16-megapixel primary shooter with Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF). The smartphone offers dual SIM functionality and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.

On the other hand, the Vivo Xplay 5 Elite has a metal-clad design and flaunts a 5.43-inch Super AMOLED QHD display with 1440x2560pixels resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection to safeguard display from scratches. At the heart of it features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820chipset coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128 ROM.

In the optics section, Xplay 5 Elite comes fitted with Sony’s IMX298 16-megapixel as primary snapper with LED flash and phase detection auto focus. At the front, it flashes an 8-megapixel secondary camera for selfies and video chats. The phone runs on Android 6.0 based Funtouch OS and features a 3,600 mAh battery. The phone comes with a fingerprint scanner on the back.  Vivo X-Play 5 Elite  supports dual SIM 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Hi-Fi 3.0 as connectivity option.
