Vivo Nex ditches S Moniker for India; Joins Oppo Find X in pop-up camera and Bezel-less display Trend

Vivo Nex S is now official in India. Yes, the first motorized pop-up selfie camera phone with in-display fingerprint has finally made it to India. The phone also sports an all-screen bezel-less front without any notch. Vivo first showcased it as APex concept phone at CES 2018, followed by a mass market launch in China as Vivo Nex S.

Vivo NEX Features

The Vivo Nex boasts of an all-screen a truly bezel-less display with a screen to body ratio of 91.24 percent. Apart from the self-retracting pop-up camera it also employs “Screen SoundCasting Technology” which vibrates the screen to create sound.

The Vivo Nex houses a massive 6.59-inch FHD+Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2316x1080p and an aspect ratio of 19.3:9. The phone rocks a Qualcomm’s latest processor – the Snapdragon 845 SoC which is packed with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant.

As for optics, the Vivo Nex supports a 12MP + 5MP dual rear camera setup rear with f/1.8 and f/2.4 aperture respectively. The camera comes with 4-Axis OIS, Slow Motion, Backlight HDR, Live Photo, Portrait Bokeh (dual cameras), Panorama, Time Lapse, Face Beauty, AR Stickers, Filters.

As for the selfies, it features a retractable selfie camera with an 8MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture that pops up in less than 0.8 seconds. The phone is equipped with a third generation under-display fingerprint sensor. Its features include a 4,000 mAh battery, a dedicated virtual assistant button (remappable), dual-band Wi-Fi, USB 2.0 port Bluetooth 5.0, 7.1-channel 3D audio.

Vivo NEX Price In India, Launch Offers, and Availability

The Vivo Nex price in India is Rs 44,990. It will retail exclusively on Amazon India and Vivo official stores. Vivo didn’t announce any launch offers from the launch stage, but Amazon page mentions a slew of offers including:

  • Cashback of Rs. 4000 for HDFC card users.
  • Extra 5000 INR on exchange.
  • Rs 1950 Jio Cashback vouchers.
  • No cost EMI.
  • Assured buyback value of Rs. 22,495
  • One time free screen replacement.
