The iPhone 16 series is now only a few weeks away, and we’ve some interesting leaks about the folded zoom modules on the Pro models. LG Innotek is gearing up to be the exclusive supplier of folded zoom modules for Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, at least for the initial few weeks.
This camera tech, called tetraprism lens, which bends light into the sensor for better zoom, was first seen on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. It’s similar to a periscope lens but a little different. This year, it will make its debut on the iPhone 16 Pro as well. According to TheElec, LG Innotek’s folded zoom modules will be in over half of the iPhones produced by the end of 2024.

Initially, LG Innotek will handle the supply, but once their stock runs out in Q4 2024, Foxconn and Cowell will step in. Jawha Electronics, alongside LG Innotek, will also supply the OIS actuator for the folded zoom module, necessary for smoother image stabilization.
Earlier rumors indicate that this will be a 120 mm tetraprism lens, just like the one on the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
