Twitter has been experimenting with multiple new features to enhance the experience for users. Now, the platform is going to join the race against TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts, with a new video viewing feature. Previously, in 2021, the microblogging platform tested full-screen video playback and pictures on iOS. Now, Twitter is working in order to gain the attention of the masses and level the playground with a series of updates.

Talking about the short video culture, it is pretty popular as of now due to the active participation of most of the social media applications in the same. YouTube has also mentioned that it will start the expansion of its partner program to shorts by early 2023. This will let the creators on the platform make money with YouTube Shorts by showing ads.

Twitter video viewing and easy discovery

On the latest application version, Twitter has integrated a media player that plays videos on full screen with a single click. This will enable the users to easily access the complete immersive viewing experience. To use the feature, you just need to open the Twitter application on your smartphone and tap the search button available at the bottom of the screen and scroll down to find the ‘Videos For You section.

You can simply tap on a video, and it will get launched in full-screen mode. You can scroll up to get access to more video content. As of now, the feature is only available for the Android version of Twitter. Speculations are that the iOS version of the application will soon get the same feature. The videos will also show the number of views alongside tweets that you may like. The feature is rolled out for selected counties as of now. It seems like the users have to wait for the global rollout of the feature.
