Indian automaker TVS has made its mark in the all-electric two-wheeler market with the introduction of the X electric scooter. Priced at Rs 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Bangalore), this offering follows TVS’s iQube EV, showcasing the company’s commitment to electric mobility.

Positioned as a performance-oriented choice, the X electric scooter boasts a distinctive design, a spacious display, and modern connectivity features. Prospective buyers can secure their X scooter with a booking amount of Rs 5,000, and deliveries are slated to commence later this year.

Performance and Range of the X Electric Scooter

The X electric scooter draws power from a 4.4kWh battery pack paired with an electric motor generating peak power of 11kW, with continuous power rated at 7kW. These specifications allow the X to achieve an impressive Indian Drive Cycle (IDC) range of 140 km. Geared for quick acceleration, the X can reach 40kmph in just 2.6 seconds and hit 60kmph in 4.5 seconds. The scooter’s top speed peaks at 105kmph.

Charging the X is facilitated by a 3kW fast charger, providing 50 percent battery charge in only an hour. Alternatively, a standard charger takes around three hours and 40 minutes to charge the battery to 80 percent from empty.

Sleek Design and Notable Features

The X electric scooter’s design takes inspiration from the Creon concept, characterized by sharp angles, split seating, and a vertically stacked LED headlight. Built on the Xleton hybrid aluminum chassis, it offers 2.5 times more rigidity than traditional two-wheelers.

The X focuses on advanced features suitable for daily use. It incorporates a 10.25-inch color TFT display with Bluetooth-enabled TVS SmartXonnect connectivity. This display offers customizable ride themes, smartphone-like widgets, video playback, and gaming support. Navigation benefits from the NavPro navigation system. The scooter provides three riding modes, over-the-air (OTA) software updates, hill hold assist, cruise control, smartwatch compatibility, and a suite of Xhield functions including speeding alerts, crash alerts, and live location sharing.

The X scooter features telescopic front forks, an offset rear monoshock, a 220 mm single front disc brake, a 195 mm single rear disc brake, and 12-inch tires. Adjustable brake levers and a RAM air-cooled inlet contribute to the scooter’s performance-focused design.

With its unique blend of performance, connectivity, and style, the TVS X electric scooter aims to make a bold statement in India’s electric two-wheeler market.
