10.or launched its second smartphone ‘G’ in India, and just as ‘E’ this one too will retail exclusively on Amazon.in. With the new phone, the brand continues with its strategy of pushing powerful hardware at an aggressive price point – exactly what you’d expect of a debutante trying to make its mark.

If you are tempted by 10.or G’s glittering spec-sheet but are still on the fence regarding whether it’s worth your hard earned money or not, we will try and answer all common questions related to 10.or W based on our first-hand experience with the phone.

Question: How is the 10.or G design?

Answer: The 10.or treads the safer path and opt for a familiar design for the G. On the rear, it’s roughly similar to Redmi Note 3 (though 10.or is a lot slimmer) with semi-metal unibody design and rounded profile, but yes the Dual camera capsule makes for a glaring difference.

On the front, it has 2.5D Gorilla glass and just as the ‘E’, 10.or G is a little too generous with bezels both above and below the screen. Another peeve point we have is with the power button placement. Since it’s positioned above volume rocker it’s not readily accessible.

Other than that, the phone is slim and ergonomic. The 10.or G design isn’t distinctive but it’s certainly acceptable for the price.

Question: How is the 10.or G build quality?

Answer: We noticed minor flexes in the body but 10.or G can’t be discarded as a flimsy phone.

Question: Is 10.or G Water resistant?

Answer: No, it’s not water or dust resistant.

Question: Does the 10.or G comes with back cover and tempered glass?

Answer: No, only USB cable and Charger are bundled in the box.

Question: Does 10.or G have capacitive navigation buttons below the display? Are they backlit?

Answer: Navigation bar is present on the display.

Question: How is the 10.or G display?

Answer: 10.0r G has a 5.5-inch display. It’s sharp, has optimum brightness for outdoor usage, wide viewing angles, and decent contrast.

On the downside, the whites lean towards colder tones, colors feel a bit washed out and the touch responsiveness is average. All in all, the display is above average compared to what we usually see in this budget, but if the display is your top priority, the 10.or G might not be what you are looking for.

Question: Does 10.or G have the option to switch between color modes?

Answer – No. You can not switch between color modes.

Question: Does 10.or G have a Bluelight filter?

Answer: No. It does not.

Question: Does the 10.or G have the option for automatic brightness?

Answer: The phone has adaptive brightness. At maximum brightness, we didn’t face any difficulty using the phone outdoors. The touch glass is a tad reflective, though.

Question: Does the 10.or G display has Gorilla glass protection?

Answer: Yes, the display is protected by scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass 3.

Question: How much internal storage space is free on 10.or G?

Answer: Out of 64GB, around 53GB storage is available at the user end. A 32GB storage variant is available as well.

Question: Does 10.or G have a Hybrid dual SIM tray or a separate microSD card slot? 

Answer: The SIM tray is hybrid, which means you’d be better off with the 64GB storage variant if using two SIM cards is a mandatory requirement.

Question: Does 10.or G has USB OTG support?

Answer: No, USB OTG is not supported.

Question: Does 10.or G have a fingerprint sensor? How many fingerprints can you scan and store?

Answer: Yes, you can store up to 5 fingerprints on the rear-mounted fingerprint reader.

Question: Is the fingerprint sensor on 10.or G fast and accurate? Is it always-on type?

Answer: It’s not exceptionally fast but it isn’t slow either.

Question: How is the day-to-day or general performance? How is gaming performance of 10.or G?

Answer: 10.or G is powered by Snapdragon 626 processor paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. That’s about the best hardware configuration you could ask for in this budget.

We tried playing high-end games and everything ran just fine. 10.or G day-to-day performance is pretty smooth too.

Question: Does 10.or G have heating issues?

Answer: The handset gets warm with heavy usage and while charging, but runs cool otherwise. You need not worry about heating.

Question: Does 10.or G support Google cardboard and other VR Apps? Does 10.or G have gyroscope sensor?

Answer: Yes, the Gyroscope sensor is present. VR apps will work.

Camera

Question: How is the 10.or G camera quality?

Answer: Camera isn’t the strong forte of the 10.or G. It can capture workable shots in good lighting, but indoors and in low lighting performance isn’t very consistent. But then again, you can’t do much better than the 10.or G in this price range.

When the lighting is good, the camera can capture fairly good images with good contrast and colors, but details aren’t very sharp. The software, however, struggles with metering and the images with bright backdrop turned out dull.

The dual camera mode on the phone allows you to shoot Portraits or images with blurred backdrops. The feature works surprisingly well. Its portrait mode performance is better than other dual camera phones in this budget.

Question: How is the HDR mode on 10.or G?

Answer: The HDR mode on the phone doesn’t work well. The phone blows away highlights and colors are largely inaccurate when HDR mode is turned on.

Question: How is the selfie camera on 10.or G?

Answer: In comparison, the 16MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture optics does a rather fine job. The beautification mode works fine. The camera app also lets you choose between white balance presets for more accurate metering. In dark ambiance, you can also make use of the soft LED flash present on the front.

Answer: No. You can record up to 1080p full HD videos

Question: How is the software on the 10.or G? 

Answer: 10.or G is running Pure Android 7.1.1 Nougat software. Apart from the usual Google Apps, you will find a couple of Amazon apps, sound recorder and 10.or care app on the phone.

The software is light and smooth. UI transitions aren’t snappy but we didn’t experience any lag or stuttering on the phone.

Answer: No.

Question: Can you run dual apps or two apps with the same account on 10.or G?

Answer: You can do that by using adding multiple users (The option is present on the status bar when you drag down quick settings).

Answer: Tenor mentions that the phone is ‘upgradable’ to Android Oreo, but no time frame is mentioned for the upgrade.

Answer: It supports nano-SIM card on both slots. The SIM slot is hybrid.

Answer: The 4000mAh battery on the phone can comfortably last for more than a day. The 10.or G battery backup is pretty convincing.

10.or G Review – Should you buy it?

The 10.or G has powerful specs and the resulting experience isn’t bad either. The phone benefits from light software, capable performance, and has great battery backup. The base variant particularly feels like a great value for money option for its price.
