Tecno To Launch New Camera Centric Full-view Display Phone on January 18

Tecno, a subsidiary brand of Hong Kong-based Transsion Holdings, will unleash its new device in India on the coming January 18. It has started rolling out the press invite of the launch event to be held in New Delhi.

As of now, we don’t have any technical details of the upcoming Tecno smartphone. But if one goes by the company’s social media post, the phone will be launched under the Camom series and could flaunt an 18:9 full vision display.

Moving on, from what we make out from the press invite, it is going to be a camera-centric phone. The invitation came with a tagline “Create Magic In Any Light” accompanying phone’s rear camera and fingerprint sensor.

Tecno is basically an offline brand of Transsion Holdings, who also owns three other brands –  Itel, Infinix and Spice, for both offline and online market.

Tecno last year launched quite a few smartphones under the i-series. The series includes i3, i3 Pro, i5, i5 Pro and i7 priced between Rs 7,990 and Rs 14,990. These were Made for India smartphones targeted at the offline markets including Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Assam and West Bengal.

All of these phones run Android Nougat based HiOS, which is an interactive interface with features like WhatsApp mode(that restricts background data of all apps but WhatsApp), Google Assistant, and an Ultra Power Saving mode that still permits access to 6 apps.
