In July, alleged Sony Xperia XZ1 was spotted on benchmark site GeekBench and a couple of weeks down the line it has now made its way to GFXBench which gives us a better insight into the key specifications and features of the phone.

To start with, this is one of the first few phones that shall be running Android O out of the box. The listing points out that Sony might be offering Xperia XZ1 in three variants – G8341, G8342, and the SO-O1K. Out of these three, the last variant is likely to be exclusive to Japan, while, the G8342 is possibly a dual-SIM version of the Xperia XZ1.

If GFXBench results are anything to go by, the Xperia XZ1 specifications will be top notch. It will boast of a 5.1-inch display with 1080 x 1920 Full HD resolution. However, it is worth mentioning here, it that GFXBench has a history of showing inaccurate screen size. Therefore, it could be possible that the XZ1 Premium comes with a 5.2-inch screen on the lines of its predecessor.

The Xperia XZ1 will enthrall Qualcomm top of the line powerhouse – Snapdragon 835 chipset along with the Adreno 540 GPU. The upcoming Xperia flagship smartphone will include 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Sony as a brand traditionally supports expandable storage, therefore, it can be safely assumed that the XZ1 will also include a microSD card slot.

The camera optics will see incremental upgrades. The primary camera will be a 19MP Motion Eye unit like the Xperia XZs. The USP Motion eye camera is that it is capable of shooting at 4K and also 960fps slow-mo videos. For selfies, the handset will come equipped with a 13MP snapper on the front.

The Sony Xperia XZ1 is likely to be officially launched at Sony’s pre-IFA 2017 press conference on August 31st.
