Samsung revolutionized smartphones with Infinity displays a couple of years back and is now finally passing on the feature to its affordable J-series phones. Reports are that the firm will soon launch in-total four smartphones by the end of this month under its Galaxy J-series,  all with 18:9 screen aspect ratio.

Targeted for the millennials, all the Galaxy “J” series devices would come with “Infinity Display” — bezel-less screen that creates an immersive viewing experience, at affordable prices, industry sources told IANS

All of these upcoming phones are going to be manufactured in India at Samsung’s production unit in Noida.

Samsung’s Infinity Display

Samsung is known to use such kind of display on its high-end phones like Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy S9. The South Korean giant first introduced the “Infinity Display” in Galaxy S8 series in 2017 and the feature was later passed on to the mid-range A-series phones.

Since all OEMs have already shifted to use of 18:9 panels, this isn’t something Samsung can avoid much longer even for its affordable phones.

The South Korean tech giant earlier used to rule the mid-range market, until recently some new players like Xiaomi took the market away from them.

Talking about the new J-series, there isn’t much to share. Samsung is expected to extend its suite of India-specific features such as “S bike” mode, Samsung Mall, Ultra Data Saving (UDS) mode and “Turbo Speed” technology to the upcoming J-series phones

The last Galaxy J7-series we saw was the J7 Duo. It was launched on April 11 and for a price of Rs. 16,990. The major highlights of the phone include 5.5-inch HD AMOLED display, dual 13MP+5MP sensors on the rear, and Android Oreo OS running out of the box.
