At the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 10, 2024, Samsung revealed the Galaxy Buds 3 series. It included the regular Galaxy Buds 3 and the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. Soon after, the company started accepting pre-orders for the devices. However, according to a new report from Android Authority, the Korean tech giant has halted the sale of one of the earbuds.

Galaxy Buds 3 Pro’s Ear Tips Are Coming Apart As Users Try To Remove Them
Early buyers of the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro have reported facing some quality control issues. The first of these issues includes fragile ear tips prone to breaking. According to several threads on Reddit and X (formerly known as Twitter), the ear tips of the device are breaking as users try to remove them from the rest of the earbud.
Apparently, the silicone ear tip rips away when users try to separate it from the housing that holds it in place. The hard plastic ring (at the end of the ear tip) stays attached to the earbud. Samsung’s Korean site also acknowledged the issue and published a post warning users to be careful while removing the ear tips. The issue is related to the updated design and structural changes made in the ear tips.

The Company Isn’t Accepting Pre-Orders Anymore
While the company was just warning its users against forceful usage, it has now halted the pre-orders to examine and resolve the issue in the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. The shipping date of the product has been pushed from July 24 to August 28. This also applies to Samsung’s Indian website, where the shipping date for various pin codes has been pushed to late August.
E-commerce websites operating in the United States, such as Best Buy and Amazon, have also stopped taking pre-orders. The product is now listed as “coming soon.” The ear tips aren’t the only issue on the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, as some users have also reported facing problems with the finish (such as uneven gaps).

Affected Buyers Can Visit Samsung’s Service Center For A Replacement/Refund
Nonetheless, Samsung has issued an apology for the quality control issues on the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. The company has also advised users to visit their nearest service centers to get refunds/replacements. Further, the company has also stated that it will inspect all the manufacturing processes before the official domestic (Korean) launch on July 24, 2024.
