Samsung‘s own subsidiary, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, may have let the cat out of the bag pertaining to the possible dual camera implementation in its upcoming Galaxy Note 8 handset by posting a series of images shedding light on the features it may come out with.

The Note 8 is expected to be the first device from the Samsung factory to boast of a dual camera setup at the back, and the features that have been mentioned on the SEM website would, in all likelihood, be there on the smartphone.

One of the said features has been named as Smart Zoom, and judging by what we have seen, it will utilize one of the two lenses (expected to be a Telephoto one in this case), resulting in sharper and relatively more saturated images than a standard Telephoto lens.

Also, the camera unit is also being deemed to work even better in low lighting conditions, providing brighter pictures, while for the HDR, it is likely that the two lenses would shoot the subject(s) separately, and then combine it to form a single image for better brightness and contrast.

Among the other features being discussed for the Note 8’s camera module include refocusing of subjects in an image (although it is yet not clear whether it will be present during clicking or after), Perspective view and Background effect.

For the record, odds are heavily in favor of all the features (or at the very least, some of them) being there when the device comes out.

It would be very interesting to see how bang on the money this news is, for August 23 (the phone’s release date) isn’t that far anymore.
