Samsung Exynos W1000: CPU Structure And Improvements

The Exynos W1000 processor features five cores. While there’s one Arm Cortex A78 core (1.6GHz) that handles demanding tasks, the other four Arm Cortex A55 cores (1.5GHz) handle lighter tasks (and maintain efficiency). “The new architecture brings expectation-breaking performance, with single and multi-core benchmarks that show improvements of up to 3.4x and 3.7x, respectively.”
The processor provides up to 2.7x faster app launches. In other words, users will be able to open their favorite smartwatch apps about three times faster. Technical specifications aside, the W1000 should provide a significant upgrade in performance, especially for users upgrading from older Galaxy Watch versions, including Galaxy Watch 4 or Watch 5.

Samsung’s latest wearable chipset uses fan-out panel-level packaging (FOPLP) to achieve a small form factor and enhance heat dissipation. The processor uses the system-in-package (SiP) method to mount power management and embedded package on package (ePoP) to mount the DRAM and NAND flash memory.
The New Wearable Chipset Features Industry-Leading 3nm Fabrication Technology
The chipset is based on 3nm fabrication technology, enabling people to use their smartwatches for longer without charging. Due to a more sophisticated manufacturing process, the chip’s performance increases while its size remains small. In terms of day-to-day usage, the smartwatches powered by the W1000 chipset should last up to two to three days on a single charge.
Exynos W1000: Always-On Display And Connectivity Options

Regarding the display, the W1000 chipset features a 2.5D always-on display engine. “For your daily use, each element of the AOD user interface (UI) becomes ultra-clear and easy to check.” As far as technical specifications are concerned, the processor features a Mali-G68 MP2 GPU, a qHD display, and an LTE modem. Other connectivity options include Bluetooth v6.0, GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, and Galileo. Last but not least, the processor ships with 32GB of eMMC storage.
