Tech giant Samsung has launched the next generation of foldables in the country. The brand hosted an Unpacked Event wherein it announced Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5. The foldables come with some major upgrades over the predecessors and are now available for pre-reservation.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 starts at 1799 USD while Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 starts at 999 USD.

Both devices will be available starting 11th August in select countries.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5: Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. It sports a 7.6-inch foldable AMOLED panel and a 6.2-inch AMOLED cover display. The smartphone packs a 4400mAh battery under the hood with 25W wired fast charging. It comes with Flex Hinge, Flex Mode, and an IPX8 rating for water resistance.

In terms of camera, the foldable has a 50MP primary, 12MP ultrawide, and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. There is a 10MP selfie camera at the front. It will run Android 13-based One UI 5.1 out of the box. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 comes with Versatile S-Pen support, large screen optimization, Nightography, and 1750 nits peak brightness. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 has a thickness of 13.4mm and weighs 253 grams. The Foldable has 12GB RAM and up to 1TB storage.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5: Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 will also be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. It features a 6.7-inch QXGA+ AMOLED panel and a bigger 3.4-inch HD+ AMOLED cover display, both with 120Hz refresh rates. The Flip phone comes with Flex Window and AI camera setup. It has a redesigned hinge which makes it 6.9mm thick when unfolded and 15.1mm when folded. The flip phone weighs 187 grams and comes with an IPX8 rating, flipsuit case, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and an Armor Aluminum Frame.

Under the hood will be a 4400mAh battery with 25W wired fast charging capability. In terms of camera, the smartphone has two 12MP sensors along with a 10MP sensor at the back. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 will be available in cream, lavender, mint, and graphite shades.
