Samsung Galaxy A71 5G and Galaxy A51 5G with Exynos 980 SoC Goes Offical: price, specifications

Samsung has announced 5G versions of its Galaxy A51 (review) and Galaxy A71 (review) phones. The South Korean giant has swapped the chipset in these phones with Exynos 990 SoC which comes with integrated 5G modem.

The Samsung Galaxy A51 5G and Galaxy A71 5G boasts off a Super AMOLED display, an in-screen fingerprint sensor and quad cameras at the back. They are backed by a non-removable a 4,500mAh battery with which supports fast-charging. With these mid-range 5G phones, Samsung is hoping to gain market share in 5G segment as their’s hardly any 5G phone available in that price bracket.

Samsung Galaxy A51 5G, Galaxy A71 5G price

Both these phones are currently only available in the US. The Samsung Galaxy A51 5G price is set at $499.99 (approx Rs 38,000). It will retail in Prism Cube Black, Prism Cube White and Prism Cube Pink colours.

The Galaxy A71 5G price at the time of launch will be $599.99 (approx Rs 45,500). Samsung is offering it in Black, Silver and Blue colours.

Samsung Galaxy A51 5G highlights

The Samsung Galaxy A51 5G houses a 6.5-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED display with 2,400 x 1,080 pixels resolution. The display is an Infinity O featuring a punch hole at centre for selfie camera.

The Samsung Galaxy A71 5G features a slightly bigger screen in a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus Infinity-O display with full HD+ pixels resolution.

The Galaxy A51 5G is driven by a 2.2GHz octa-core Exynos 980 processor that comes with an integrated 5G modem. Samsung is producing A51 phone in two configurations: 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM and 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM. There’s support for media expansion up to 1TB via a microSD card. It runs on Android 10 based with OneUI 2.0 custom skin.
As for the optics, the Samsung Galaxy A51 5G includes a quad-camera setup at the back featuring a 48MP primary sensor, a 5MP macro lens, a 12MP wide-angle lens and a 5MP depth sensor. For selfies, there is a 32MP front shooter and an in-display fingerprint sensor for security.

Samsung Galaxy A71 5G specifications

Just like the Galaxy A51 5G, it is also driven by a 2.2GHz Exynos 990 SoC coupled with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.

In comparison to the Galaxy A51 5G, Samsung used a 64MP (f/1.8) primary sensor in Galaxy A71 5G. Remaining three cameras are the same as the Galaxy A51. It also packs a 4,500mAh battery and ships with a faster 25W charger.
