Samsung’s A6 and A6 Plus made a stop at certification website FCC which, apart from revealing a few specs, points to their imminent launch. The FCC ID for the Galaxy A6+ and A6 are A3LSMA605FN and A3LSMA600FN, respectively. The e-label placement screenshot in the certification clearly shows the “Galaxy A6” moniker.

The leaked information is coherent with the Geekbench leak for the two phones from two weeks back that showed similar performance on both phones (in spite of different chipsets used).

Samsung Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6 Plus Features

The A6 and A6 Plus should be the more compact sibling to Samsung Galaxy A8 and A8 Plus launched at the start of this year and should carry the same fundamental glass body design. The fingerprint sensor should be at Samsung’s new favorite position – below the rear cameras. And perhaps we’d also get dual front cameras for the ‘Plus’ variant.

According to FCC listing, the Galaxy A6 has Exynos 7870 chipset paired with 3GB RAM on the inside. This is the same SoC that Samsung has been using in its array of affordable J-series and On-series phones for at least past 2 years.

The chipset on Galaxy A6+ feels equally uninspiring. The phone allegedly employs the Snapdragon 625, which is a dependable, yet affordable chip from last year. It’s already unusual that Samsung isn’t using its own Exynos chipset for the same. The SoC will be mated to 4GB RAM.

Both phones will run Android 8.0 Oreo-based Experience UI 9.0 with Project Treble support out of the box.

Well, If Samsung manages to price them competitively, the Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6 Plus could prove to be exciting. Let’s wait and watch.
