Samsung Galaxy A6 and A6+ with Infinity Display Launched: Features and Specificaitons

Following a series of leaks and rumors, Samsung finally lifted curtains from its Galaxy A6 and A6+ phones. The mid-range duo follow the footsteps of their elder sibling – the Galaxy A8 Plus – and include a bezel-less Infinity display with 18.5:9 screen aspect ratio. Both the new Galaxy A-series phones look similar but differ in terms of size, hardware and performance.

Samsung Galaxy A6 and A6+ Features

The Galaxy A6+ is beefier of the two. It sports a 6-inch FHD+ SuperAMOLED display and is powered by 1.8Ghz octa-core Snapdragon 450 processor. The phone sports a dual-rear camera setup with one 16MP (f/1.7) sensor and the other 5MP (f/1.9) sensor. Its selfie camera has a 24-megapixel shooter with f/1.9 aperture lens and LED flash.

The Galaxy A6, on the other hand, comes with 5.6-inch HD+ SuperAMOLED display and is powered by 1.6GHz Octa-Core Exynos 7870 SoC. This is the same chipset that we see on all affordable Samsung J-series phones like Galaxy J7 Prime.

For photography, it features a 16-megapixel f/1.7 sensor on the back and another 16MP sensor with f/1.9 aperture lens on the front for selfies.

Other specifications are almost the same, both Galaxy A6 and A6+ employs up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and latest Android Oreo OS. The battery on Galaxy A6+ (3500mAh) is bigger than that on Galaxy A6’s (3000mAh).

Connectivity options include dual-SIM, 4G VoLTE, Dolby Atmos support, 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n (2.4/5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 LE, NFC, and GPS.

Samsung Galaxy A6 and A6+ Price and Availability

Samsung is yet to reveal the price details of both Galaxy A6 and A6+, which will be available in Black, Gold, Blue, and Lavender color options. As for the availability, there is no exact date, but it is said that the phones will go on sale from early May starting in select European, Asian and Latin American markets, before rolling out globally to additional markets throughout South Korea, Africa and China.
