Samsung’s Next Generation A Series Phone Pops Up on Benchamark Site and Import Listing

0

Samsung is reportedly working on the next version of its popular design-centric A series smartphones – Galaxy A3 (2017), Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017), to strengthen and update its mid-range portfolio. The Galaxy A-Series continues to score well in the popularity charts, and Samsung is going to stick to the same Monikers for the third time in a row.

Reports regarding these new A series handsets first surfaced on SamMobiles. The second generation A-series lineup model numbers are SM-A320F for Galaxy A3, SM-A520F Galaxy A5 and SM-A720F for A7 respectively. If the rumors hold true, the 2017 edition of these smartphones will feature better hardware, a metal and glass design something on the line of Galaxy S6, a fingerprint sensor and improved optics with image stabilization.

Of course, it’s way too early to talk about specifications of Galaxy A3 7, Galaxy A5 7 and Galaxy A7 7 or their availability in India. Also, Samsung recently imported Galaxy A5 (7) model no. SM-A520F in India for testing purposes as per the details available on Zauba- an Indian import/export listing tracker website.

Samsung Galaxy A5 7 recently managed to hit the benchmarking website Geekbench and according to it, the upcoming Galaxy A5 2017 will boot up on Android Marshmallow and not on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat. This is subjected to change once the new crop of A series phones is officially released.

Samsung Galaxy A5 7 Features

As per the benchmark site, the Galaxy A5 2017 features a 5.2-inch AMOLED display and is powered by Samsung’s home-developed octa-core Exynos 7880 chipset instead of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 which is currently employed in 2016 edition of Galaxy A5 2016. The chipset is coupled with a Mali-T830 GPU and 3 GB RAM. On the storage front, it is said to offer 32GB and is likely to feature a micro SD card slot. The phone is backed by a 2,900mAh battery. The Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 benchmarks scores on Geek bench are 814 for the single-core test and 4,396 for the multi-core test.
