I guess it’s plausible that there are people out there who crave and long for flip phones, which used to be totally swanky gadgets till Smartphones took over.
To cater to that niche audience with a taste for retro styling, Samsung introduces Galaxy Folder 2, an Android Marshmallow running Phone that punctuates with the satisfactory Snap.

This isn’t Samsung’s first attempt at reviving the Flip Phones, though. Apart from original Samsung Folder (which was always in rumors, but I am not certain if it ever went official), the South-Korean giant also launched the Galaxy Golden back in 2013, which was exorbitantly priced at around 50,000 INR. We don’t know the price of Galaxy Folder 2 just yet, but after a cursory glance at its spec table, we are guessing this one would have a more reasonable price tag.
The Galaxy Folder 2 includes a 3.8-inch WVGA (800 x 480) TFT display and is powered by 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 425 chip with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. The Folder 2 is naturally quite thick (15.4mm), and at 160 grams, it also has a decent heft to it.
Other features include 8MP rear camera, 5MP front camera and a 1950mAh battery rated at 318 hours of standby time.
For now, the Samsung Folder 2 is listed on the official China website. No word on pricing or availability yet.
