Looks like Samsung is rolling out ads in its Bixby home interface. These ads show up as a Bixby card at the top of Bixby home and suggest recommended apps based on user interest. We first spotted these advertisements on Galaxy Note 9 running One UI.

At the time of writing, we are not sure regarding how many people are actually seeing them or whether the same card is showing up for people using Experience UI.

Same as Xiaomi Ads?

It must be noted that these ads aren’t as spiteful or obtrusive as the ones Xiaomi pushes across MIUI. They redirect to App download page on Play store and use Google Ad ID for personalization. The ad card stays in the Bixby home and won’t pop-up through the interface.

Bixby certainly isn’t the most popular choice of Android assistant and these ads surely won’t help its cause. People who’d be worst affected will be those who regularly use Bixby Home. Besides, ads are the last thing anyone would expect on their $1000 phones.

Apart from Bixby home, you will also find adverts within Game Launcher, and maybe some other Samsung apps.

Anyways, if you are seeing these ads and they bother you, it’s fairly easy to turn them off.

This information is false. Ads will still continue to appear, even if cache/data is wiped from Bixby home.
