Xiaomi India plans to launch Redmi Note 7s with the coveted 48MP camera into the Redmi Note family. This Flipkart exclusive launch would broaden the envelope of the Note 7 series on May 20. Needless to say, the siblings Note 7 Pro (review) and the base Note 7 phone were powerful upgrades and the ‘s’ suffix would be a new entrant and Xiaomi has already foreshadowed some of the specifications.

Redmi Note 7s: What we know so far?

Xiaomi India Managing Director Mr. Manu Kumar Jain in a tweet teased the Redmi Note 7S. The tweet revealed that this phone would also wield a 48MP camera at the back. Thus it joins the club with the Redmi Note 7 Pro and several other Xiaomi as well as other brand phones launched lately.

The 48MP camera of Redmi Note 7 Pro

The 48MP camera phones more often than not are powered by the Sony IMX586 sensor. They would function on the 4-in-1 quad-pixel technology also called Pixel-binning, by which four pixels would be stitched to produce a relatively better-detailed pixel. Thus the effective image size would be 12MP and it would have fewer noises.

The teaser image also hints at a dual camera setup, and the safe bet for the secondary camera goes to a 5MP depth sensor. However, we would rather wait for official info on the megapixel count in the second shooter. The images surfaced in the e-commerce microsite shows the detailed shots, bright low-light snaps, portrait clicks out of this camera.

The company had recently intimated an imminent launch of a phone engined by Snapdragon 700 series. So, it won’t be a far cry to presume this to be that phone. Moreover, that teaser also surfaced from Mr. Manu’s Twitter handle.

We would be scouring the web for more details on this upcoming Redmi phone. At least we look forward to more bits and pieces on the new device before its official premiere date set for May 20.
