Xiaomi has confirmed that the next generation Redmi Note or the Redmi Note 5A will be revealed in its full glory on August 21st. To begin with, the successor of Redmi Note 4 will be presented in China.

This week the phones received its TENNA certification, and it is believed that there will be two variants in the upcoming Redmi Note 5 series (which is hardly surprising going by the previous trends).

According to TENNA reports, there isn’t much difference in Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 4 design. It has been given the same unibody design with curved edges and two antenna lines carved at the back of the phone. It looks like only the high-end variant of Note 5 series will feature an embedded fingerprint scanner on the rear.

Other than that both variants will sport the same screen size, screen resolution, and battery capacity. It’s been reported that there will be a 5.5-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. There is no word on battery capacity yet. Also, both devices will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box with MIUI 9 on top.

At the spec front, both variants vary from each other and if leaks are anything to go by then the Redmi Note 5A will be powered by Quad-Core Snapdragon 425 integrated with Adreno 308 GPU, paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage that is expandable by a microSD card. On the other hand, Redmi Note 5A Pro will come in Octa-Core Snapdragon chipset with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage.

For photography, the Redmi Note 5’s upper variant phone will sport a 16-megapixel primary camera and a 13-megapixel front camera, whereas their entry level phone will feature 13-megapixel sensor at the back and a 5-megapixel front snapper.

What price we may expect for the new Redmi Note 5 series? Earlier leaks also revealed that Xiaomi may price its two products at 1,200 Yuan, roughly to 11,500 INR, and 999 Yaun, roughly to 9,570 INR, respectively.
