Redmi India has brought the K20 series to India today. The phones made their official debut last month in China. So, the specs and features are no secret to you. Redmi K20 Pro (review) advertised as the Flagship Killer 2.0 is as you know the better of the two. Like the tagline, the handset is stuffed with features which are flagship worthy. That said, the standard K20 isn’t lame either. The recently launched Realme X (review) is thus forth compared against it.

Redmi revealed the K in K20 denotes Alpha symbol – So, without any further ado, let’s get to their key highlights, price, availability, offers and other details.

The first sale begins on the 22nd of July at 12 noon. You could buy the Mi 27W SonicCharge fast charger at Rs. 999. The cases are available at Rs. 499, Mi Neckband 5.0 at Rs. 1,599 and the Rechargeable LED lamp at Rs. 1499. Finally, the Signature K20 Pro Gold and Diamond edition is priced at Rs. 4.8 lakhs.

Right off the bat, the Redmi K20 Pro raves in a new decor. The given colors such as Carbon Black, Glacier Blue, and Flame Red colors gel in with a 3D gradient pattern on a glass and metal body. You could see the tonal shift as the light hits on the surface. The edges shimmer in dint of a curved back. You get Gorilla Glass 5 protection on both sides.

The front display is a 6.39-inch full-screen full HD+ Horizon AMOLED panel with svelte bezels and a large 91 percent screen to body ratio. Within the display, there is a 7th gen embedded fingerprint scanner which claims a quicker and reliable unlock.

This display supports HDR, DCI P3 color space, DRM Widevine L1 support (promised to arrive in the retail unit), lux level upto 600 nits, dedicated dark mode, TUV certified reading mode and DC dimming.

The front camera is a 20MP sensor peeking from a motorized pop-up module claimed to rise in 0.8s. This has a cool Camera Edge Lighting effect. It is advertised to sustain 300,000 cycles, backed by sapphire glass on the camera front, and accidental drop protection.

At the back, you get a 48MP sensor (f/1.75) paired with a 13MP (f/2.5, 124.8-degree ultra-wide field of view.) and finally an 8MP (f/2.4, optical 2x zoom) telephoto lens.

Other camera features include built-in Google lens and AI Skyscaping, 960 FPS slow-mo recording and UHD 4K@60FPS videos (in all 3 camera lenses) as well.

Under the hood, you have a Snapdragon 855 chipset aided by Adreno 640 GPU, 8 layer liquid cooling, upto 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It draws power from a 4000mAh battery that supports 27W SonicCharge fast charging.

Xiaomi has baked in a brand new Game Turbo 2.0 feature to give you holistic gaming experience. You can tinker settings to optimize performance, control headphone/sound quality, prioritize WiFi/ mobile network, along with touch enhancements, etc while gaming.

Besides all these, you also get LED notification light, AI Face Unlock, USB Type-C port, NFC, 3.5mm headphone jack, Dual-frequency GPS, P2i Splash Proof, HiFi audio, and Smart PA audio technology.

Redmi K20 vs Redmi K20 Pro: What’s the difference?

Redmi K20 bears a mid-range Snapdragon 730 processor. You get lesser RAM+storage options – 6GB+64/128GB, a slower 18W fast charging support. Its 48MP rear camera uses Sony IMX582 sensor, unlike the Pro’s Sony IMX586 sensor. Rest of the phone shares the same specs and features as the Pro model. It is also equipped with WiFi 6 standard support.
