Update (24 July 2019):  A Change.Org petition is gaining momentum in India, highlighting the overpriced Redmi K20 series. The petition was started by Vivek Chauhan and has garnered 4028 signees as of this moment. He added an Open Letter to Xiaomi in response to Mr. Manu’s open letter. By far 4029 supporters have signed this petition too.

MIUI is one of the refined and feature-rich Android skin out there. After all, it is a veteran that dates back before Xiaomi ventured into the smartphone business. But, a long-time gripe with the mature software has been its Ads-infested interface. Well, with the new Redmi K20 Pro, the brand takes a detour as it will have no Advertisements in the UI. The company CEO, Mr. Manu Kumar Jain confirmed this via an open letter to fans.

Redmi K20 Pro Features

Right off the bat, the Redmi K20 Pro raves in a new decor. The given colors such as Carbon Black, Glacier Blue, and Flame Red colors gel in with a 3D gradient pattern on a glass and metal body. You could see the tonal shift as the light hits on the surface. The edges shimmer in dint of a curved back. You get Gorilla Glass 5 protection on both sides.

The front display is a 6.39-inch full-screen full HD+ Horizon AMOLED panel with svelte bezels and a large 91 percent screen to body ratio. Within the display, there is a 7th gen embedded fingerprint scanner which claims a quicker and reliable unlock.

This display supports HDR, DCI P3 color space, DRM Widevine L1 support (promised to arrive in the retail unit), lux level upto 600 nits, dedicated dark mode, TUV certified reading mode and DC dimming.

The front camera is a 20MP sensor peeking from a motorized pop-up module claimed to rise in 0.8s. This has a cool Camera Edge Lighting effect. It is advertised to sustain 300,000 cycles, backed by sapphire glass on the camera front, and accidental drop protection.
