Redmi K20 Pro vs OPPO Reno 10X Zoom: Display

OPPO Reno 10x Zoom sports a 6.6-inch panoramic Full HD+ (2340 × 1080 pixels) resolution screen with 19:5:9 aspect ratio. This one is also shielded by Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection.  Redmi K20 Pro, on the other hand, flaunts a 6.39-inch full HD+ Super AMOLED display with ultra-thin bezels and a 91-percent screen-to-body ratio. This one sticks to Gorilla Glass 5 protection for the facade.

OPPO Reno comes with TUV Rheinland eye protection certification, which the Redmi K20 Pro lacks. Redmi K20 Pro supports HDR content and brightness level shooting up to 600 nits. OPPO Reno screen comes with blue-light filter, DCI-P3 rich color profile mode. While Redmi raves about its 7th generation in-display fingerprint scanner, OPPO also has an under-display fingerprint unlock 2.0.

Redmi K20 Pro VS OPPO Reno 10X Zoom: Design

Redmi K20 Pro gauds in a 3D gradient glass and metal body oozing Carbon Black, Glacier Blue, and Flame Red colors. It has a curved back panel with patterns reflecting tones of purple, orange based on various shifting lighting conditions.

Redmi K20

It’s lighter with 191 grams in comparison to OPPO Reno 10x Zoom’s 210 grams. While the challenger takes a shiny approach, Reno has a lush Ocean Green and Jet Black colors. This one also dons a glass and metal chassis.

Redmi, as well as OPPO, brag of a full-screen display with minimal bezels, thanks to a pop-up camera module. This is where OPPO could rake up awe for its side-lifting Sharkfin pop-up module.

If you’re an audiophile and you dig a 3.5mm headphone jack, then Redmi K20 Pro is your phone. OPPO while ditching the same gives us a USB-C alternative.

Redmi K20 Pro vs OPPO Reno 10X Zoom: Internals

This is one area where things get interesting and more or less slants to the Redmi turf. Yes, both of them wield Snapdragon 855 power aided by Adreno 640 GPU resulting in performance parity. Although more doesn’t mean better, the choice is appreciated. Redmi weighs in with more RAM+ storage variants than what OPPO offers.

Snapdragon 855

For heat dissipation, Redmi K20 Pro is equipped with 8 layer liquid cooling with a double-sided three-dimensional cooling structure. It utilizes a top-level graphite supplier for the materials. OPPO, if not better, also boasts three heat management methods including triple layered graphite sheet, copper pipe, and thermal-conductive grease paste.

On the software side, both pack feature-packed skins on top of Android 9.0 Pie. Redmi’s MIUI 10 could be condemned for its intrusive ads and lack of an app drawer. However, you could disable the ads, slap on a third-party launcher and enjoy the customization granted by MIUI theme store.

OPPO’s ColorOS 6.0 is a major upgrade from the previous software iteration bringing nifty features such as configurable offscreen gestures and button actions. The company has assured security patches and software updates.

Both the skins bear various optimizations and dedicated modes for enhancing your gaming, display and overall UI experience. These resource-hungry processes eat up the battery quickly. Gladly, Redmi K20 Pro and Reno 10x Zoom draws from 4000mAh and 4065mAh battery bricks respectively. However, K20 Pro’s 27W fast charger could refuel faster than the 20W fast charger.

Redmi K20 Pro vs OPPO Reno 10X Zoom: Camera

Redmi K20 has a slightly larger resolution 20MP selfie snapper against the 16MP front shooter in OPPO Reno 10x Zoom. But, specs don’t equate to quality. That said, the real attraction of both the cameras is their placement.

While the Redmi utilizes a familiar pop-up module, OPPO reimagines the pivot-rising mechanism through a side-lifting unit called Sharkfin design.

Flipping to the back, both the phones feature a  48MP+ 8MP+ 13MP rear triplet. However, OPPO swoops in with the 10X Hybrid Optical Zoom capability of its 13MP telephoto lens. While its optical lossless zoom is up to 5x only, it still leads ahead of the Redmi K20 Pro’s 2x optical zoom from the 8MP sensor.

Redmi K20 Pro vs OPPO Reno 10X Zoom: Specs Comparison

The 10X zoom is what sets the Reno 10X Zoom apart. However, even when the India price of Redmi K20 is not out yet, Xiaomi’s offering will be launched at a much more aggressive price, which will heavily weigh in its favour.
