Redmi 9 Prime launched with Helio G80, Quad-cameras starting at Rs 9,999

Xiaomi has launched Redmi 9 Prime in India via a virtual event. With it, the Prime-series makes a comeback after a long gap of four years – but what’s in a name, right? Redmi 9 Prime includes a FHD+ display, Helio G80 chipset, 5020mAh battery, and more.

Redmi 9 Prime Price and Availability

Xiaomi has priced the Redmi 9 Prime at Rs 9,999 for the 4GB + 64GB variant and Rs 11,999 for the 4GB + 128GB version. The color options include Space Blue, Mint Green, Sunrise Flare, and Matte Black. The phones will go on sale through Amazon and Mi stores from August 6.

Redmi 9 Prime Features

The Redmi 9 Prime sports a 6.53-inch FHD+ waterdrop notch display with 1080×2340 pixels resolution. The back panel gets 3D unibody design for anti-slip texture. The new Prime device is powered by MediaTek Helio G80 gaming processor clocked at 2.0GHz and coupled with Mali-G52 GPU. The chipset is paired with a 4GB LPDDR4X RAM with up to 128GB internal storage, expandable up to 512GB via a dedicated MicroSD slot.

For photography, Redmi 9 Prime boasts of a rear quad-camera array comprising of a 13MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, a 5MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. The fingerprint sensor is installed with the camera array at the back. The front camera features an 8MP selfie shooter with palm shutter support.

Under the hood, Redmi 9 Prime touts a beefy 5020mAh battery with up to 18W fast charge support. Connectivity options include dual 4G SIM, IR blaster, Bluetooth 5, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
