Lately, every other week, we are coming across news about phones catching fire. Is it just me or have you been also noticing this? It could be that only now such isolated incidents are gaining traction in the burgeoning tech media of the country. In any case, whence they headline the news, concerned parties can quickly sort the problem for good. At least, that’s what we hope.

This time, it’s a Realme XT phone and you may not be recalling this but earlier this year, in the month of June, we had heard of another Realme XT going up in flames. For what it’s worth, the brand has addressed the issue and is apparently looking into the matter.

Realme XT Blast: Here’s what happened

A Twitter user by the name of Sandip Kundu posted about the mishap that happened with his friend. The tweet was done from Kolkata on December 28, 2021.

My friend’s phone Realme XT blast in the evening today, said Mr. Kundu and requested Realme Chief Mr. Madhav Sheth to do something in this regard.

To his tweet, Realme India’s support team replied, “Hi Sandip, thank you for bringing this to our attention. We are truly sorry to hear about this unfortunate incident. Please share your friend’s contact number via DM and we’ll do everything we can to help you out. Send us a private message”.

Sandip has also shared a video on the platform showing how he and his friend moved away from the device as they noticed the smoke. From the details shared by him, fortunately, there doesn’t seem to be any bodily injury from the incident.

But, that’s just our speculation as we are yet to gain more insight. Also if you are wondering, both parties haven’t posted any fresh statements. And so, we too are in the dark about the cause of the blast and if there’s any resolution to this case.
