Design and Display

When it comes to design and display, the OnePlus Nord and Realme X7 Pro have the upper hand over the Xiaomi Mi 10i.

The Nord and X7 Pro both have HDR10 compliant AMOLED displays with high refresh support. The Xiaomi Mi 10i, on the other hand, has an IPS LCD panel which is also HDR10+ compliant but doesn’t quite match AMOLED contrast.

Between the OnePlus Nord and Realme X7 Pro, the former supports a wide color gamut and the latter gets brighter. The OnePlus Nord is also relatively more ergonomic to handle, but the really the difference isn’t all that apparent.

The Xiaomi Mi 10i has a side-mounted capacitive fingerprint reader while the OnePlus Nord and Realme X7 Pro have fast and reliable optical in-display readers. Unlocking is fast and efficient on all three phones.

So, based on design or display, you may pick either the OnePlus Nord or the Realme X7 Pro, but yes, we’d say the Nord has a slight edge.

Performance and Software

All three of these phones are capable performers that can comfortably handle whatever you throw at them. That’s because they employ class-leading chipsets backed by high-quality RAM and Storage.

Based on benchmarks, the Dimensity 1000+ on the Realme X7 Pro lends it a lead over the Xiaomi Mi 10i and OnePlus Nord, but really, you can’t go wrong with either of the three.

As for the software, we’d give first preference to OnePlus Nord’s refined Oxygen OS. The Realme UI comes in second, followed by MIUI 11. All of the three are based on Android 10 and your personal preference may vary.

Camera and Battery

When it comes to camera performance, the Realme X7 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 10i rank above the OnePlus Nord. All of these three phones have high-resolution sensors (48MP, 64MP, 108MP) but expect diminishing returns as you move up the ladder.

In proper daylight, the Realme X7 Pro and Mi 10i both do a remarkable job at capturing fine details in highlights and shadows. The X7 Pro keeps the colors closer to natural. In low light and dark scenes, neither of the two is particularly impressive but the Realme X7 Pro has a slight edge as it understands and meters scenes with tricky lighting in a better way. On the other hand, the Mi 10i has a bigger sensor and can capture better details.

The camera is a close call between the Realme X7 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 10i. In some scenes, the Realme X7 Pro performed better and in others, the Mi 10i excelled with better clarity and details. Both of these perform better than OnePlus Nord.

Coming to the battery, the Xiaomi Mi 10i delivers the best mileage and the 33W fast charging isn’t all that slow either. The Realme X7 Pro can go from zero to 100 percent in just 35 to 40 minutes which is a massive convenience.

The battery experience is again fine on all three of these phones. The Mi 10i has the most assuring backup, while the Realme X7 Pro has the fastest charging speeds. The Nord is the distant third. Take your pick.

Verdict

It’s really hard to pick one winner. Months after its arrival, the OnePlus Nord still stands its ground rather well. The Realme X7 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 10i have better cameras and other specs advantages, but the choice will ultimately boil down to your individual preferences.
