These watches have circular dials and run Realme’s proprietary software. The Watch S Pro, which we have been putting through the wringer, includes an AMOLED display, is optimized for 14-day battery mileage, and has 14 different workout modes.

In our Realme Watch S Pro review, we will test these claims and help you determine if it’s a worthy buy. Let’s start with the specs.

Realme Watch S Pro Review: Design and Display

Realme Watch S Pro is a solid watch with a stainless steel frame and good quality 22mm silicon strap. The watch has a  sporty feel to it and is comfortable to wear. Realme also has several easily swappable silicon and leather strap options priced at INR 499 and INR 999, respectively.

The best part has to be the circular 1.39-inch OLED panel with 454 x 454 pixels resolution that’s protected by a 2.5D Gorilla Glass. The chronograph along the periphery has a 0 to 60 scale. The screen has deep blacks, responsive touch, and can go up to 450 Nits bright (official claims). Realme has a 5-step auto-brightness system in place that proved very dependable.

Raise-to-wake functionality works reliably and you may also choose between an Analog or Digital Always-on watch face if you are willing to sacrifice some battery mileage. The always-on mode also restricts raise-to-wake functionality.

The companion Link app now has a decent collection of watch faces and users may also sync any one gallery image as a watch face.

There are two buttons on the watch and none of these is programmable. The top button is for ‘back’ and the bottom one grants quick access to the workout modes.

Overall, we are quite happy with the look and feel of the Realme Watch S Pro.

Realme Watch S Pro review: Performance and Features

We didn’t notice any performance glitches or stutters on the Realme Watch S Pro. We did encounter connection drops once or twice, but overall the connectivity was pretty solid.

The link app is now a lot more stable than when we last tested it, but there is still some way to go before Realme’s wearable software achieves that expected finesse.

Basic features like Find my phone, music control, and weather info are all there. Most of the customization options are present in the Link app. The app can sync phone notifications for apps you choose and also maintain a log. You can not reply to these messages and can individually discard them after expanding them. There is also the option to mute incoming calls or reject them.

Other features include camera shutter, timer, stop-watch, and compass. We were still hoping for more customization options and features considering this is the Pro variant. For instance, we’d have liked the bottom button and quick setting tiles to be customizable. Or the option for Bluetooth calling.

The good thing is that Realme is working on developing the Watch S Pro as a hub to operate Realme’s AIoT gadgets and that should make the experience a lot more meaningful. Other features like quick reply for SMS are also on their way.

Realme Watch S Pro review: Activity and Sleep Tracking

Realme Watch S Pro has 14 different workout modes including Outdoor Run, Indoor Run, Outdoor Walk, Indoor Walk, Outdoor Cycling, Spinning, Hiking, Basketball, Yoga, Rowing, Elliptical, Cricket, Strength Training, Free workout, and a new swimming mode.

The few fitness modes that we tested felt comprehensive and thoughtfully designed. We tested the watch with outdoor walking with 10 laps of a 0.5KM circuit.

We compared the stats against Amazfit GTS 2, Oppo Watch and Ticwatch and didn’t notice any significant difference when it comes to the step counts and distance traveled. The active session count felt inaccurate.

The watch has in-built GPS to track routes. Users can check their outdoor jogging, walking or cycling routes on a map in workout logs on the Realme Link app. We liked that the route animation took into account the number of laps we took instead of just drawing loops over loops.

The mapping was off by more than a few streets. It must be mentioned that this is a common peeve point of almost all premium cross-platform watches we have tested this year.

We don’t usually wear our watches to sleep, but sleep tracking is still an important parameter for many consumers. We compared the sleep tracking with Amazfit GTS and Oppo Watch and the stats were comparable.

SPO2 monitor is not automatic, but the readings were similar to our medical grade oximeter.

Realme Watch S Pro Review: Battery Mileage

Realme Watch S Pro makes room for a 420mAh battery. With the display set to Always-on, notification synced from multiple apps, continuous heart rate monitoring, and 1 hour of daily workout tracking we could get a mileage ranging between 4 to 6 days. This is lower than the official 14 days claims but is still manageable.

Realme also ads a battery saver mode that uses a low-power chipset and can significantly prolong battery mileage. The watch only records steps and sleep in the battery saver mode, though.

The watch comes with a circular magnetic charging dock that attaches firmly and takes around 2 hours for a full charge.

Realme Watch S Pro Review: Verdict

The Watch S Pro is a good looking, fitness-oriented wearable that’s available at a very competitive price. While the hardware is impressive, software still needs some polish. Having said that, realme has a good track record with embellishing its wearable software with subsequent updates and we know that some improvements and more customization options are on their way.

The major competition is from Amazfit GTR 2 and GTS 2, which are both pricier. If you are limited by a budget of 10K, the Watch S Pro is certainly worth considering.

Pros

  • Vibrant OLED display with reliable Auto-brightness
  • Elegant design with comfortable straps
  • Good assortment of workout modes

Cons

  • No Bluetooth calling
